About The Role

The Factory Test team is responsible for delivering manufacturing test solutions that are cost-effective and critical to customer experience. As a Factory Test Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to define and manage test solutions deployed to the manufacturing lines used to build Humane’s products. This role requires a mix of hands-on debugging, creative problem-solving, and project management skills. You will have the opportunity to work on the most exciting technologies in consumer electronics. This role is highly cross-functional and you will work closely with partners in operations, electrical engineering, system software, and product design.

2023 Internship Program Dates: May/June-August/September 2023. Final dates based on student schedule.

What You Might Do

  • Oversee development of test hardware and software used on Humane’s production line
  • Work with design and engineering teams to verify proper test coverage across product  
  • Analyze factory build data and drive for product and process improvements
  • Partner with remote team responsible for all test station debug and FA during development and production; as well as recommend improvements to test coverage & design
  • Advise teams internally on DFT best practices 
  • Collaborate with all cross-functional teams (software, electrical, program management, operations, etc) to deliver a successful product to market

Essential Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechatronics
  • Experience in systems engineering. Comfortable with both hardware and software. 
  • Experience working with lab equipment for hands-on testing of electrical products 
  • Self-starter with strong organization and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Competence in some typical scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Experience shipping consumer products
  • Experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets using tools like JMP, Tableau, Minitab, MATLAB, or similar
