About The Role

Humane is looking for a Facilities Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance, operation, and presentation of our work spaces. In this role, you will partner closely with our Facilities Lead to oversee all things related to Humane’s office and play an integral role in creating and maintaining a safe, productive workplace for our growing team.

What You Might Do

  • Assist Facilities Lead with hands-on work related to the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of the Humane offices to ensure an operative and safe working environment
  • Develop strong partnerships with external vendors for building management services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC etc. 
  • Assist vendors and providers with building access, COVID 19 protocols and daily logistics when work is needed in any Humane office space 
  • Provide guidance to service vendors who are responsible for completing repairs and upkeep
  • Prepare and process vendor invoices for all building maintenance services
  • Partner with Facilities Lead to develop expense reports and operating budgets
  • Partner with landlords and property managers to quickly diagnose and solve problems 
  • Manage facilities data such as property addresses, vendor contact lists, and emergency contact plans
  • Assist with coordination of space planning for new and existing office work areas
  • Receive and manage facility tickets requests through Asana, and repair, and track repair process
  • Bring forth innovative ideas to enhance existing and future work spaces
  • Coordinate employee equipment and furniture requests and moves

Essential Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of related experience in hands-on facilities and/or property maintenance 
  • Solid digital literacy especially with Google suite of applications
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects in excess of 50 lbs
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with building management and safety procedures
  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors
  • Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement of our work spaces
  • Ability to take initiative, follow-through on requests until completion, and have a passion for attention to detail
  • Highly organized with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment across multiple locations where the ability to prioritize and multitask is essential.
  • Ability to learn new computer applications and tools as required
