About the Role 

The Design Project Manager is a liaison between software design and software engineering working groups, promoting cross-functional communication and collaboration. This resource has a deep understanding of software design development, coupled with aesthetic sensitivity.

What You Might Do

  • Partner with a Design Manager to define scope, develop roadmaps, and prioritize software design deliverables
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering Project Managers to develop software design project schedules, coordinating and tracking designer activity to ensure timely delivery
  • Support a hybrid creative project management methodology in tandem with an Agile software development approach, moving with ease between organizational systems
  • Motivate the team enthusiastically, promoting a deep sense of individual belonging and a culture of inclusivity

Essential Qualifications

  • 4+ years of in-house experience managing projects of multidisciplinary creative teams
  • 4+ experience in interactive design, software design, digital media project management
  • Background in visual art, art education, or design
  • PMP Certification or coursework in project management
  • Experience in new product development from ideation to launch

  • Quick and eager to learn new platforms and tools for task and asset management 
  • Proactive, self-motivated, reflective
  • Asana proficiency
  • Familiarity with JIRA
  • Clear, direct, effective communicator
  • Empathetic and intuitive collaborator
  • Excellent verbal communication marked with empathy and the emotional intelligence to connect with, relate to, and respect diverse collaborator
  • Excellent written communication, marked with a balance of warmth and precision, reflecting the appropriate tone for each situation
