About The Role

As a Factory Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and managing delivery of key manufacturing test fixtures deployed on the manufacturing lines used to build Humane’s products. This role is technical and will require some hands-on debugging and traditional manufacturing test development, but also requires an engineer with strong delegation and project management skills. You will liaise between Humane’s hardware and PM teams, remote factory test teams, and 3rd-party fixture developers to deliver, bring-up and buy-off test fixtures.

What You Might Do

  • Oversee develop of manufacturing tests for PCBAs, subassemblies, and finished goods 
  • Take responsibility for remote team that works on tester development, bring-up, debug, data analysis (GR&R, Cp/Cpk, correlation), and consistency in factory environment 
  • Verify proper test coverage across product  
  • Create test reports and present to leadership team
  • Manage remote team responsible for all test station debug and FA during development and production; as well as recommend improvements to test coverage & design
  • Advise teams internally on DFT best practices 
  • Collaborate with all cross-functional teams (software, electrical, program management, operations, etc) to deliver a successful product to market

Essential Qualifications

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: mixed-signal, RF, optical, and audio measurements
  • Experience managing overseas CMs/JDMs to design and manufacture products
  • Experience setting up factory test data collection systems
  • Experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets using tools like JMP, Minitab, MATLAB or similar
  • Experience working with lab equipment for hands-on testing of electrical products 
  • Experience shipping high-volume consumer products
  • Ability to travel to factories to support builds

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus
  • Some knowledge of basic database languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Competence in some typical scripting languages (e.g. Python)
