About The Role

As a Factory Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and managing delivery of key manufacturing test fixtures deployed on the manufacturing lines used to build Humane’s products. This role is technical and will require some hands-on debugging and traditional manufacturing test development, but also requires an engineer with strong delegation and project management skills. You will liaise between Humane’s hardware and PM teams, remote factory test teams, and 3rd-party fixture developers to deliver, bring-up and buy-off test fixtures.

What You Might Do

  • Own development of calibration stations and manufacturing tests for critical electrical subassemblies with a focus on optical modules
  • Own calibration and test station development, bring-up, debug, data analysis (GR&R, Cp/Cpk, correlation) for critical optical + related testing
  • Verify proper test coverage across several electrical modules and subassemblies within a system
  • Create test reports and present to leadership team
  • Manage remote team responsible for test station debug and FA during development and production; as well as recommend improvements to test coverage & design
  • Collaborate with all cross-functional teams (software, electrical, program management, operations, etc) to deliver a successful product to market

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a high volume Manufacturing/Factory Test position 
  • Experience designing and bringing-up test fixtures for optical modules (or similar)
  • Experience managing overseas module vendors to build complex testers that meet schedule requirements
  • Experience developing test requirements for a complex technical system
  • Experience working cross-functionally with System SW, EE, Manufacturing 
  • Ability to travel internationally to factories and vendors to support builds

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus
  • Some knowledge of basic database languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Competence in some typical scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Experience with camera calibration and CV algorithms
