About The Role

Humane's Hardware Team works cross-functionally with electrical engineering, software, product design, industrial design, program management, and operations to deliver a successful product to market. As a Senior Audio Engineer on the team, you will drive the product from concept to production while owning audio architecture, acoustic design, component selection, subsystem validation, and DSP tuning.

What You Might Do

  • Responsible for audio subsystem design and implementation throughout a product design cycle
  • Evaluate transducers and audio ICs for current programs, and investigate new technologies for future roadmap products
  • Work with product designers on acoustic design and electrical engineers on audio schematics/layout 
  • Define engineering and manufacturing test plans, and assist with bring up and debug 
  • Build internal lab with state-of-the-art audio equipment 
  • Implement DSP tuning for various use cases
  • Work with internal, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and JDM/CM to successfully bring product to market

Essential Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of acoustic fundamentals, DSP turning, amplifier/codec implementation, and speaker design 
  • 5+ years of experience shipping high volume consumer electronics products as an audio technology lead
  • Hands-on experience working with audio measurement equipment 
  • Experience working with overseas CMs/JDMs to design and manufacture products
  • Ability to travel to factories to support builds

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
  • Experience specifying and supporting high-volume factory test equipment for consumer audio products
  • Passionate about working on highly creative, fast-paced, and collaborative teams 
  • Ability to drive tasks independently and communicate issues/root-cause analysis clearly
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
